Fall 2021 Oxalis
Bulbs have inherent protection against drought and frost because they save energy in their bulbs. (The main exception is holland tulips which can't tolerate our hot summers.) I like oxalis "shamrocks" because they bloom for a very long time, (2+ months) and they bloom twice a year (spring and fall "ephemeral"). Any choice from the link below will do well in our climate with no care at all. If you do buy one of these buy them by the hundreds. Plant them 4" or so apart. They only get 6 inches or so tall so treat them like a ground cover or tiny "ephemeral" shrub. They bloom best in the sunshine. https://brentandbeckysbulbs.com/category/fall-planted-bulbs/oxalis-fall-planted-bulbs/?v=7516fd43adaa
